The 2017 APS/CNM Users Meeting

Registration for the 2017 APS/CNM Users Meeting is open at https://www.regonline.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1850239! Please note that the late-registration rate begins on April 22.

The theme of this year’s meeting is Driving Discovery, and the lineup of workshops and symposia certainly highlights the ongoing momentum of research being conducted at the APS and CNM. The meeting is scheduled for May 8-11, 2017, with CNM Short Courses being held on the 11th.

This year’s meeting banquet is being held at the lovely Meson Sabika in nearby Naperville. This event is not to be missed, and foodies will enjoy the tapas feast planned for meeting attendees on Monday night, May 8, and flamenco dancing and traditional guitar music will provide authentic dinner entertainment!

Students can apply for travel support and for a chance at being selected for the Student Invited Talks at the facility plenary sessions, and post docs/early career scientists can submit their work for a spot in the Speed Science Slam, which will take place during the combined plenary session on Monday morning. See https://usersmeeting.conference.anl.gov/Program/Poster-Session for details on all these opportunities!

The meeting will also highlight a large number of exhibiting companies of interest to the research community. The annual Poster Session is set for Tuesday, May 9, and is sure to offer great company and conversation with the scientists and staff that make up the user communities of the APS and CNM.

CNM Short Courses are being offered on Thursday, May 11—see https://usersmeeting.conference.anl.gov/Program for further information.

We hope you will be able to join us for this exciting meeting!

The Advanced Photon Source is a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science User Facility operated for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science by Argonne National Laboratory under Contract No. DE-AC02-06CH11357.

The Center for Nanoscale Materials is one of the five DOE Nanoscale Science Research Centers, premier national user facilities for interdisciplinary research at the nanoscale supported by the DOE Office of Science. Together the NSRCs comprise a suite of complementary facilities that provide researchers with state-of-the-art capabilities to fabricate, process, characterize and model nanoscale materials, and constitute the largest infrastructure investment of the National Nanotechnology Initiative. The NSRCs are located at DOE's Argonne, Brookhaven, Lawrence Berkeley, Oak Ridge, Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories.
