The International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) spotlighted the work of a group of Argonne researchers who utilized two x-ray beamlines at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Photon Source in applying high pressure techniques to a new area of materials science research.
An on-line “Research News” feature titled “Framework materials yield to pressure” notes that the technique employed at X-ray Science Division beamlines 1-BM and 17-BM “demonstrate[s] that pressure offers a novel approach for generating new phases and exploring the structure-property relationships of molecular materials.”
